CAREER GROWTH AND EMPLOYEE DEDICATION IN THE BAYELSA STATE CIVIL SERVICE

This study investigated the relationship between Career Growth and Employee Dedication of Bayelsa State Civil Service. The identified 4,413 civil servants Grade Level 8 14. A sample 367 representatives was drawn using Yamene’s (1967) formular. Data retrieved from 281 valid copies questionnaire were analyzed to generate descriptive outputs, with aid International Business Machine Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 28.0.1. Three hypotheses tested Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient. All dimensions (career goal progress, professional ability development organisational rewards) found have positive significant dedication. concluded that higher levels career rewards are associated recommends government should: (i) enable workers attend more developmental programs, carry out assignments; coached on how set attain goals specific positions, (ii) create opportunities develop new skills, knowledge competencies, (iii) review reward system re-introduce incentive schemes such as transportation allowance, meal subsidy, utility non-financial incentives compliments, public recognition, awards.
